Without you there would be no community. The community works because you make it happen. The KCis so much more than a website. It is part of a social movement driven by vision, passion and creativity. To all those who come together to make a difference, we salute you.

The Knowledge Community was designed and developed by the Care Services Improvement Partnership in partnership with web developers Ichameleon.

In particular, we owe our thanks to the dedicated team who manage the KC development.

We are committed to inclusive working and have actively sought to involve a wide range of people in designing and shaping the kc. Read more here. The magic that makes it work

The KC is built on open source platform using open source software applications. This includes:

  • Linux, the operating system
  • Apache, the Web server
  • MySQL, the database server, and
  • PHP, the programming language.

We would like to thank the open source community for freely improving and redistributing the source code for the software we use.

The images that make the KC sociable

We have used images in the Knowledge Community to help make it more engaging and social for people. Images come from two key sources: Flickr, a photo sharing website, and Photo Symbols Ltd, a photo bank used to communicate with people with a learning disability. The information below describes what images we have used, accredits the source and where we have used them.
